Auto-publish Instagram Reels and TikTok videos
What PostFast publishes directly to Instagram and TikTok at the scheduled time, and the one case where you finish a TikTok inside the app on purpose.
PostFast publishes to Instagram and TikTok directly. There is no reminder notification to tap on your phone: at the scheduled time the post goes live on its own.
Instagram: what publishes directly
Everything below is chosen with Publish type in the Platform settings tab:
- Timeline - a single image, a video, or a carousel. A single video posted to Timeline is published as a Reel by Instagram itself.
- Reel
- Story
For Reels, the same tab adds:
- Share Reel to profile grid - post to the grid as well as the Reels tab.
- Trial Reel - shown only to non-followers. Manual lets you share it to all followers after 24 hours; Auto lets Instagram share it after 72 hours if it performs well. Trial Reels need a public Professional account with at least 1,000 followers, and cannot be combined with collaborators.
- Collaborators - up to 3 Instagram usernames.
- Mark as AI-generated - adds Instagram's "AI info" label. This cannot be changed after the post publishes.
- Location - tag a place.
To set a Reel cover, click the cover control on the video in the composer to open Set Cover Photo: Pick Frame takes a still from the video, Upload Cover takes a JPEG or PNG up to 8 MB.
A First Comment of up to 2,200 characters is posted automatically about 10 seconds after publishing.
TikTok: publish directly, or send a draft on purpose
Videos and photo carousels (up to 10 images) publish directly at the scheduled time. In Platform settings you can set:
- Allow Comments, Allow Duet, and Allow Stitch.
- Privacy settings.
- Disclose video content, with the Brand Organic and Branded Content classifications.
- AI-generated content - adds TikTok's "AI-generated" tag.
- Sound (photo posts only) - No sound, Auto: TikTok picks a sound, or Choose a trending sound from TikTok's Commercial Music Library, filtered by genre and trending period. Some accounts need a reconnect before a specific sound can be chosen.
- TikTok title (photo posts only) - set it and the full caption becomes the description. Leave it empty and the first line of the caption is used as the title.
When to publish as a draft instead
Subtitles and final edits still happen inside the TikTok app. For those posts, tick Publish as draft in Platform settings. The post lands in TikTok's Inbox → System Notifications on your device, and you finish and publish it from there.
Sounds picked in PostFast are applied on direct publish only, not on TikTok drafts. Add the sound in the app when you publish a draft.
Once you publish a draft from the app, PostFast picks it up on its next check (twice a day, covering posts from the last 30 days) and starts tracking its analytics.
First comment on TikTok
A first comment of up to 1,200 characters can be posted automatically, and comments must be enabled on the post. This requires a TikTok Business API connection. If the account was connected without it, reconnect it from the Accounts page.
