Schedule a post to Threads

Schedule text, image, video, and carousel posts to Threads from PostFast, with an optional automatic first comment.

Updated 2026-09-062 min read

Threads authenticates through Instagram, so you need an Instagram account to connect it. In PostFast, Threads is its own connected account, and you can still cross-post to Instagram from the same composer.

1. Open the composer

From the sidebar, click New Post at the top. You'll land on the Create post composer.

2. Add content

  • Write your post text. Threads allows up to 500 characters, and the counter shows how much room you have left.
  • Attach one image, one video, or up to 10 images and videos for a carousel. Threads is one of the platforms where images and videos can be mixed in the same post.

3. Add a first comment (optional)

Under the post text in the composer, fill in First Comment. It is posted automatically about 10 seconds after the post goes live, and can be up to 500 characters.

When more than one account is selected, pick a platform above the field first: the first comment is written per account, not once for the whole post.

4. Choose your Threads account

  • In the Post settings panel on the right, open the Schedule tab.
  • Select your Threads account. You can select Instagram at the same time to publish the same content to both.

Threads has no options under the Platform settings tab.

5. Schedule, post, or save

Still in the Schedule tab on the right:

  • Click Pick time to schedule the post for a specific time.
  • Click Post now to publish immediately.
  • Click the arrow next to Post now to Save as Draft inside PostFast.

Good to know

  • Everything publishes automatically at the scheduled time. There is no reminder notification to tap on your phone.
  • PostFast collects metrics for Threads posts, refreshed every 6 hours for the first 14 days, then daily until 60 days.
